Method (one line): for each market we rank its own tracked fleet by true 5-year cost of ownership — the same cost engine behind that market's calculator, at its dated local electricity and fuel rates and typical annual distance — and put its cheapest electric car up against its cheapest petrol/hybrid; the lower total wins.
